Gina Ferrari is a mixed media artist living and working in rural Cambridgeshire.
"For as long as I can remember I have always had a desire to create. My childhood memories are filled with endless drawings, handmade books or comics, miniature fairy gardens, hand stitched dolls clothes and various other hand made items that were often foisted onto my family as gifts. Definitely one of the original Blue Peter generation, I never passed by an opportunity to convert a plastic squeezy bottle or cardboard loo roll tube into a work of art!
My teens were filled with endless fashion illustrations whilst I dreamed of a career in illustration or design. As often happens my life didn't follow that particular path and eventually I ended up with a career in textiles, teaching embroidery and creating textile art.
But recently I have returned to my love of painting and drawing and my focus has shifted once more. My work is a mixture of acrylic painting combined with collage and stitch. Sometimes abstract, sometimes representational it is inspired by my surroundings and the landscape"
